Windows 11 is an incredible operating system for gaming, thanks to features like Auto HDR and DirectStorage. But out of the box, it isn't fully optimized for maximum framerates. Here is how to squeeze every drop of performance out of your rig.

1. Turn on Game Mode

Go to Settings > Gaming > Game Mode and toggle it On. This tells Windows to prioritize CPU and GPU resources to your game, pausing background updates and notifications.

2. Disable VBS (Virtualization-Based Security)

VBS adds a layer of security but can tank game performance by up to 10%. Search for Core Isolation in the Start Menu and turn off "Memory Integrity" (only do this if you prioritize FPS over extreme enterprise security).

3. Update GPU Drivers

Always ensure you are running the latest Nvidia Game Ready or AMD Adrenalin drivers.
